Wimbledon Family Garden
This mansion house in Wimbledon was sensitively renovated by Harper Latter Architects, with the studio working closely alongside to develop a cohesive landscape scheme for the wrap-around garden. The design responds to the scale and character of the house, striking a careful balance of restraint and depth to complement the existing façade rather than compete with it.
The garden is organised into a series of connected spaces designed to support family life. A sunken herb garden creates a quiet, productive area close to the house, while a large family lawn provides an open and flexible central space. Naturalistic planting beds soften the boundaries of the garden, with areas dedicated to cut flowers adding seasonal interest and a strong connection between house and landscape.
Seating areas are integrated throughout the garden, offering places to gather, pause, and enjoy views across the planting.
