Amelia Bouquet
Amelia is a garden and landscape designer, she trained in garden design at the English Gardening School and gained a PGDip in landscape architecture at the University of East London. Her undergraduate degree was in French and Italian, studied at the University of Bristol. She works on a range of projects from large residential projects, roof terraces, public spaces and everything in between.
Her recent RHS show garden at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show with colleague Emilie Bausager was created in support of Energy Garden to illustrate the green infrastructure potential of overground train platforms. The garden won a silver gilt award and will be re-installed at Latimer Road Station this year (2023).
In 2021, at the Hampton Court Palace flower show (2021), she designed a show garden in support of Mental Health UK called 'The Communication Garden', which won Best Construction and a Silver medal along with extensive coverage on the BBC, featured on BBC Radio 4 and many other publications.
Amelia has long had a fascination for all things horticultural, in particular the life and uses of plants in design. She places great emphasis on horticulture in her design work and believes a garden is only as good as its plants, balanced of course with beautiful hard landscaping.
Amelia's ethos is that there is not a 'one size fits all' approach to design, the surroundings and requirements for the garden mould and influence its aesthetic. Each space should be a visual and tangible expression of the people it is built for.
