Hatton Cross and Latimer Road Stations

At Hatton Cross, Amelia Bouquet and Emilie Bausager (Bausager & Bouquet) were commissioned by Energy Garden and Transport for London to re-design the planting at the station.
The iconic brutalist concrete facade to the station was a starting point in thinking about the geometry and design of the spaces. The design also draws inspiration from abstract forms found in flight paths and nature. The planting encourages biodiversity through tall bird houses and a more naturalistic style of planting for pollinators. This garden blends horticulture, art, solar-powered amenities, and community gardening to create a welcoming green hub at the station.

The Latimer Road garden began as The Platform Garden, a container garden originally created for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where it won a Silver-Gilt Medal. Designed by Bausager & Bouquet to model how transport infrastructure can be greener and more engaging, it was rebuilt adjacent to Latimer Road Underground Station with robust materials and community support.
