Hackney Courtyard
London has some complex and interesting garden spaces, often as a result of how land has been divided up over the years and changes of use from commercial to domestic and vice versa.
As such this courtyard in Hackney was previously used by the restaurant directly behind the property and had been used as a meeting point for employees. However its new use as a residential garden to the clients house meant creating greenery within four walls.
The idea was to create a sense of height and matureness to the space, the evergreen multi stem Feijoa trees created a beautiful green canopy over the space, teamed with new tiling, larch fencing and planters, the space took on a completely different feel.
